Course Summary

This subject provides students with of a range learning opportunities:

  • safe and hygienic food preparation
  • nutritional considerations
  • experimentation with food properties
  • taste testing a wide range of food products
  • investigation into consumption patterns.

Students develop practical skills in:

  • designing, creating and presenting food 
  • selection and use a variety of ingredients and cooking technologies
  • food design projects eg. cake decorating, event planning
