CCAS Teachers attend Future Schools Alliance tour in Victoria

Campus Monday, 28 Mar 2022

A priority at Central Coast Adventist School is to continually look for opportunities to provide quality professional learning opportunities for our teachers.

Our school belongs to many networks, including the Future Schools Alliance (FSA). The FSA is a community of global innovative educational leaders who support schools to provide future-focused schooling for our students. FSA facilitates opportunities for our teachers to meet like-minded educational leaders and network with schools that hold similar beliefs, philosophies and learning design principles for education.

One of the benefits of our membership with FSA is to provide “targeted professional learning”, which involves sending staff members to visit a diversity of educational settings and bring back insights that can be applied here at CCAS. Last week six of our leadership team participated in the FSA Victorian state-based school tour.

Staff visited five schools, including Haileybury, Assumption College, Prahan College and Candlebark (a school created by author John Marsden). The main focus of this trip was to find ways of increasing student engagement for our students. We want our students to enjoy learning and be focused on owning their learning journey. We look forward to implementing strategies learned on this trip to support our students on their educational journey.
