Junior AFL Teams Win

Sport Monday, 09 May 2022

Our junior AFL teams had two very successful days playing at Bateau Bay Oval this week.

On Tuesday, the junior boys' AFL team went undefeated, winning all their matches convincingly. The grand final game was against Wadalba HS, who ensured the boys worked hard for the win, but the CCAS boys still won, with the final score being 35-19.

The junior girls also had some very convincing wins holding one team to zero points on Thursday. When it came time for the grand final, the girls were ready but aware that Terrigal HS had some great players and had also convincingly won all of their matches in the lead up to the finals. CCAS were down 7 points at halftime but came out strong in the second half scoring a few goals to take the lead. Terrigal scored with 2 minutes to go, narrowing the margin to only 3 points. CCAS held the lead and the final siren went, resulting in a win.

Both junior AFL teams will now represent the Central Coast at the next stage of the competition.

Thank you to all the players and Mrs Hamilton, Mrs Simonsz, Mr Sirilo, and Sydney Boonstra for training and preparing the students for these days.
