Head Start

The transition to High School can be both an exciting and daunting time for students (and parents). Our goal is to make this change as easy as possible and give students the opportunity to thrive in this new experience. The information contained here will help to give students a Head Start as they complete their primary education and move into secondary school.

A community where students thrive in their experience of learning and live abundantly in Jesus.
— CCAS Vision Statement
To create connected and dynamic learning opportunities grounded in the love of Jesus, advocating service to others and individual excellence.

Homework will be assigned by teachers through SEQTA. Homework may include finishing or catching up on missed class work, a report task, leaning activity and/or revision.

If your child is struggling to complete homework in a reasonable time frame, encourage them to seek help and clarification from their teacher.

It's important that there is a balance between homework and leisure time for the wellbeing of students.

Homework Help

Homework help is offered twice a week straight after school from 3.00 - 3.45 pm for the following subjects:

  • TUESDAY: English and History/Geography (HSIE)
  • THURSDAY: Maths and Science

Students can receive assistance from a teacher with their classwork, assignments and test preparation. No need to book in or let the teacher know, you can just turn up. If needed, students can move between the two areas.

Reports & Academic Progress

Three reports are issued during the year:

Interim Report (mid Term 1)

  • Designed to give a general report on outcomes and behaviour

Mid Year Report

  • Based on half a years work and includes mid year exam results where appropriate

End of Year Report

  • Based on full or half years work (depending on the subject) and includes final exam grade where appropriate

Ongoing reporting via SEQTA.
