There is a two-strand process for enrolment in the school. Strand One deals with Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Year 7, the major entry points to the school. Strand Two refers to the process for all other grades.
Enrolments are processed according to the following :
Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Year 7 applications are to be submitted as soon as possible due to enrolments filling up to 48 months or more in advance of the enrolment year. Parents are able to contact the school to receive an update of the status of their applications.
Applicants for Pre Kindergarten should turn 4 by April 30 of the year of enrolment. Kindergarten applicants should turn 5 by April 30 of the year of enrolment. Applicants younger than this will not be considered.
Whilst Pre Kindergarten enrolment is not a requirement to access Kindergarten enrolment the following year, the majority of students do come from the Pre Kindergarten class. Remaining Kindergarten enrolments are then confirmed based on the system outlined above.
Interviews and testing for Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Year 7 take place the year prior to commencing and parents will be notified of a time and date for the interview. Year 7 interviews commence in April with Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten interviews taking place from June onwards. Kindergarten applicants sit a school readiness test in August/September and Year 7 sit their test in August.
Applications are taken throughout the year for all other grades with interviews and testing being arranged as opportunities for enrolment open up in various grades.
The Central Coast Adventist School Council will consider all applications, and a student is not considered fully enrolled until such final approval is given. The School Council annually considers the eligibility of all students for re-enrolment on the basis of their school record. Reenrolment and student pledge forms (Grade 5 upwards) must be submitted as requested.
All newly enrolled students move through a period of one term’s probation.
