Our Pre Kindergarten Day
During the first few weeks, routine is the most important part of your child’s learning. It is most important that you as the parent follow our classroom morning routines to ensure the children start the day happily.

Morning Routine
- You can choose a locker for your child's bag when arriving at the classroom.
- Children place their fruit break in their labelled tray inside the classroom.
- From 8.30 am, the children will be welcomed into the classroom to play. From this time, they will are supervised by the Pre Kindergarten staff.
- If your child is having trouble separating from you, the staff will help your child to settle.
- Give your child a smile and know they will be happy at Pre Kindergarten after you leave. We will contact you if your child has not settled shortly after.
- The class begins at 9.00 am.
Afternoon Routine
- The bell rings at 2.50 pm, advising the end of the day.
- Pickup is between 2.50 pm and 3.10 pm.
- When the end of day bell has rung, the children will wait in the Pre Kindergarten playground on the grass.
- If your child is attending After School Care, they will remain in the Pre Kindergarten classroom with the After School Care staff.
Daily Routine
Here is an example of our daily routine:
- Welcome to the classroom
- Morning activities and developmental play
- Worship and circle time
- Literacy
- Specialist Activity e.g. Library, Music, Sport or Thinkspace
- Fruit Break
- Mathematics
- Bible, Science and Mathematics focussed small groups
- Play-based learning activities
- Lunch in the classroom
- Outside play (weather permitting)
- Rest time
- Fine Motor Skills
- Shared reading or buddy reading
- Hometime
This routine can change depending on the specialist activities and times.
