Learning for a Changing World

Our holistic approach to education actively engages students in the learning process to grow their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials.
— Mrs Joanne Andrews, Assistant Principal: Teaching & Learning

Central Coast Adventist School (CCAS) is committed to providing quality education that prepares students for now and the future. We have an intentional focus on teaching higher cognitive skills, such as critical thinking, creativity and complex problem-solving. Teachers seek opportunities to teach these skills across all subject areas. To do this effectively, a focus on explicitly teaching Literacy and Numeracy throughout the school is a priority. Individual excellence is monitored regularly using data to ensure all students are receiving the support they need and deserve.

Our teaching program is compliant with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Curriculum. Our teaching staff bring a wealth of experience to deliver a range of learning approaches, providing connected and dynamic learning opportunities for all children. Ongoing professional development for teachers ensures that quality teaching is based on current research and best practice.

It is predicted that our society will change more in the next 20 years than it has in the previous 300 years. This change is mostly being driven by breakthroughs in science and technology, including artificial intelligence and biotechnology. This change is already disrupting many traditional industries, institutions and professions. While the predictions vary widely, we know that many of the jobs of today will be affected. Many children in schools today will go on to work in occupations that do not yet exist.

To prepare our children for a changing world, and for jobs that do not yet exist, we continue to change. Instead of producing job-ready students, we are equipping them to be future-ready learners and global citizens.
