Drama

Course Summary

Drama explores the world through performance. Students find creative and engaging ways to investigate issues, study human relationships, and appreciate the joy of the performing arts.

Drama provides learning opportunities to:

  • grow self-confidence
  • enhance interpersonal skills
  • develop creative skills through devising, work-shopping, rehearsing and performing individual and group works.

This year we have been experimenting with a practice-led research approach to Drama where the class has chosen their areas of investigation. Interested in comedy? Great! Let's discover how to apply our dramatic skills to make an audience laugh. Want to experiment with mixing film and live performance? Okay, let's research ways to create innovative theatre. This teaches students valuable research techniques while allowing them to learn core skills through practical application.
