Course Summary
This course provides students with the opportunity to develop their own artworks, culminating in a 'Body of Work' in the HSC course. Students engage in the critical and historical study of the art world to investigate artists, artworks, worlds and audiences from a range of cultural, political, historical and social perspectives and use these to inform their own art-making practices.
In Stage 6, 50% of the Assessment weighting comes from practical and 50% comes from theory. There are equal weightings of time associated with each as well.

There are no prerequisites for this subject.

Career Options
Any creative occupation or tertiary study would benefit from undertaking Visual Arts in Years 11 and 12. Occupations may include:
- Graphic design
- Architect
- Designing (any industry e.g fashion, landscape, etc)
- Teaching
- Fine arts courses/degrees
